Arkahdia Arts Studio is a casting studio which makes and restores casted Sculpture, Home Decor and Architectural elements.
This is a tremendous opportunity for someone to learn new skills and become an integral part of a growing company which has been around for 13 years.
We have two facilities one in Yonkers, New York and a large factory in Glendale, California with an existing mold library of over 12,000 items.
We are hiring 2 full-time individuals to join our team in the New York facility.
New employees will hit the ground running with the first project creating 3 larger than life statues, large relief panels, crown molding and decorative ornamental wall panels all to be installed in a new club.
Requirements for this project:
1) preparation of sketches and shop drawings from photos,
2) Sculpting Masters with mixed media
3) Helping mold makers with creation of molds (we will train)
4) Helping casters with casting (we will train)
5) Finishing of casted pieces. (we will train with use of spray gun and some techniques)
The normal duties for this position include:
-Design and Construction of Architectural Art, Sculpture and home decor
-Casting products made of plaster, resin, metal, cement and other materials.
-Finishing products using spray-gun and other methods.
-Creating molds for new products.
-Photographing products for our website and catalogs.
The position also includes other duties such as:
-Ordering and receiving goods and supplies.
-Packaging and shipping orders using UPS, FEDEX, USPS and freight.
If you can not work in a team please do not apply. Everyone pitches in here, even the owner of the company and software systems engineer roll up their sleeves giving a hand to help cast and ship from time to time.
We will provide training but will give preference to people with experience.
Requirements include a clean driver`s license and computer skills including internet browsing.
There is heavy lifting involved with this job.
We offer paid holidays, paid vacation time, paid sick days and a casual environment.
Workweek is Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM with some overtime depending on work load.
Salary offer will be based on skills and previous experience.
